WE RECYCLE TEXTILE MATERIALS

Living with the notion of social and environmental responsibility, J Gomes has a production culture aligned with the quality and sustainability of the environment.

OUR COMPANY

J Gomes started its activity by reusing waste left over from other factories in the Portuguese industry.

In 2002 we set up the spinning line where we produce our yarn from textile waste.

The collection of textile waste is done using J Gomes vehicles that transport the waste materials from the production process of textile and clothing companies, whether yarn, fabric or knitwear.

After collection we separate all textile waste, by qualities and colours. In this way, the impact of J Gomes is immediately reduced because it is not necessary to dye the yarn to obtain the desired colour as well as the material.

Our yarns have the same diversified applications as any other yarn, such as garments, jumpers, socks, home textiles, blankets, quilts, rugs, among others.

Transformation of recycled and virgin fibres into yarn

Originating the material ready to be used in the most diverse applications

Our process of transforming textile waste into yarn uses no synthetic chemicals and wastes no water.

No dyes or chemicals are used, as the yarn results in the colours and qualities of the scraps used in the production of the yarn.

To demonstrate J Gomes is certified by the Global Recycle Standard - GRS - which ensures the chain of good environmental as well as social practices.
